Amii and Routeique collaborate on creating AI-enabled warehouses

The project will work with Big Rock Brewery to optimize current warehouse management processes to alleviate global supply chain pressures

Amii and Routeique, a Calgary-based company that provides supply chain solutions for warehouse distributors, are excited to announce a project collaboration to explore artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions to optimize fast-moving warehouse operations and provide an archetype that will increase efficiency and productivity of future warehouses.

Over the last few years, supply chain management has been severely impacted by unprecedented events such as the pandemic and severe climate change—this has resulted in a ripple effect impacting fast-moving consumer goods and the global supply chain. To address these challenges, Routeique is working with Amii to advance their existing AI/ML capabilities and find AI-enabled solutions that can support their clients in making faster and better decisions at scale. The proposed solution design will focus on orchestrating warehouse operations to maximize efficiency across three interconnected use cases; Demand Forecasting/Sensing and Slotting Analysis, Pick Route Optimization, and Sequencing and Space Use Optimization.

We look forward to bringing our expertise to strengthen Routeique’s existing AI/machine learning infrastructure and begin to build an archetype for future warehouses that will further propel Routeique and their clients as industry leaders.

“Amii is excited to work on this project with Routeique to build their AI capacity and provide tangible solutions that address the current challenges related to the global supply chain,” says Cam Linke, CEO, Amii. “Through this project, we look forward to bringing our expertise to strengthen Routeique’s existing AI/machine learning infrastructure and begin to build an archetype for future warehouses that will further propel Routeique and their clients as industry leaders.”

The project is partially funded by Scale AI as part of their record-breaking $117 million investment towards 15 AI industry projects. Scale AI is Canada’s AI Global Innovation Cluster that accelerates industry AI adoption and integration in Canada through funding and additional support. Amii and Routeique will work directly with Routeique’s national brewery client, Big Rock Brewery to optimize the client’s resources and increase revenue by adopting efficient solutions to its warehouse operations.

“Routeique is incredibly excited to embark on this exciting project with our partners at Amii and Scale AI. The Routeique platform has always been at the forefront of supply chain technology and our team is constantly reinvesting in the future in order to keep up with this ever-changing industry”, says Mike Allan, CEO of Routeique. “We see AI and machine learning as the vehicle to help us help our enterprise clients make better, more automated decisions at scale and this project will help us accelerate 3 years of cutting-edge R&D into a single year.”

It is anticipated that this project will bring a direct impact of an estimated $250,000 in savings annually to operations and support growth of over $50M over the next five years through the diversification of Routeique’s business models. Additionally, solving warehouse operational challenges for Routeique and its clients in the fast-moving consumer goods segment will drive the growth of Routeique to over $30M in cumulative revenue over the next five years.

Over the past year, Amii empowered more than 70 companies to leverage machine learning to ‘Be More’, helping them grow their internal capabilities and accelerate and de-risk their AI adoption goals to achieve new competitive advantages. Read this year’s Impact Report at impact.amii.ca.
